2010 has hardly been a vintage year for Peterborough United. Numerous managerial changes, dwindling attendances and a relegation has made it a year, in footballing terms, to forget. With there only being one remaining fixture left of 2010, weather permitting, it is time for the first ever Posh Blog Awards.Player of the Year: Joe LewisJoe Lewis has had his critics at Posh ever since he signed for a record transfer fee. He is a player that divides opinions at London Road, some still reminisce over the talents Mark Tyler whilst others think Lewis could become a future Premier League goalkeeper. No-one can deny the fact that Lewis has had a very good year in terms of performances though.The shot-stopper has been a regular in the Peterborough United team since signing in 2008 but in his early days in a Posh shirt, despite moments of brilliance, he was very prone to errors. He has developed as a goal-keeper since then though and over 2010 this tendency has been almost eradicated with the keeper looking solid and dependable throughout. Perhaps the finest game of Lewis career came against Tottenham Hotspur and the F.A Cup which led to the Spurs fans chanting for Harry Redknapp to sign the England U21 International.In-front of a leaky defence Lewis has excelled and although Poshs defensive record has been abysmal it would have been far worse without Lewis in goal over Hayden Hurst Jersey 2010.It shows how bad defensively we have been over the year that this award goes to a goal-keeper who has conceded a large amount of goals but withoutLewis this tally would surely have been far greater.Lewis is beginning to fulfil the potential that earnt him a senior England call-upfrom Fabio Capello.Signing of the Year: Lee TomlinNot since George Boyd arrived on the scene have Posh fans had a player this exciting to watch. Some even say that Tomlin could go on to surpa s Boyds achievements as a Posh player. A le ser name signing when compared to other higher profile players that were brought in by Gary Johnson during the summer, Tomlin has excelled in his brief time at Peterborough United so far.Tomlin grabbed his first goal against Exeter to rescue a respectable 2-2 draw but his performances against Todd Gurley II Jersey Leyton Orient, Stockport and Rochdale, most recently, have been most impre sive. Equally adept as a winger or a striker, Tomlin is superb in po se sion with some excellent dribbling, pa sing and shooting skills. The former Rushden man has excited the London Road crowd already and at the age of 21 he still has plenty of time to develop. He looks a bargain for the fee that Gary Johnson paid for him and whether at Posh, or at a higher level, it seems that Lee Tomlin has a very bright future.Match of the Year: Peterborough United 5-4 Swindon TownIts rare to come away from a game that your team has won feeling frustrated but after a 5-4 win against Swindon a number of Posh fans did. After racing to a 3-0 lead inside the first half an hour Posh were dominant and comfortable but somehow Swindon managed to turn around the game before half-time and leave the sides level at the break. Posh went ahead again but Swindon equalised before a last minute own-goal sealed all three points for Peterborough United in a thrilling encounter.To read the full-match report from this game click .Goal of the Year: Liam Dickinson v Watford.Over 1,000 Posh fans travelled to KhaDarel Hodge Jersey Watford in hope more than expectation, the side hadnt won an away game all season and this game at Vicarage Road appeared a home banker. Liam Dickinson tore up the script though with a fantastic 35 yard chip of real delicacy. Scott Loach had mi s-kicked a back-pa s straight to the feet of Rowe who played the ball into Dickinson before the striker, on loan from Brighton, managed to pull off a spectacular first time lob from long-range and leave the highly rated keeper stranded.
